Ekaterina began her music studies at the age of 5 at the Special Music School in Moscow as a violinist. From this young age she began to familiarize herself with the stage; she won prizes at regional competitions and participated in local festivals.
At the age of 16 she entered the Academy of Music at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, this time as a viola player. During that time, her interest and passion for chamber music developed and grew. At the age of 20, she joined Aleksandr Akimov's class at the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music. During her studies there, Ekaterina won several prizes at international competitions, including the 1e prijs op de International Music Competition in Madrid. Na haar verhuizing naar Nederland behaalde ze haar bachelor- en masterdiploma aan het Conservatorium Maastricht bij Prof. Michael Kugel.
Today, Ekaterina is a guest player in several European orchestras (Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Nederlandse Reisopera, The Beethoven Orchestra (Antwerp, Belgium), Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia) and solo and as a violist in the Eurasia Quartet.
